GlobalABC — the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction — is the leading global platform dedicated to transforming the buildings and construction sector toward a zero-emission, efficient and resilient future. Founded at COP21, its Secretariat is hosted by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

GlobalABC brings together governments, public institutions, businesses, financial actors, researchers and civil society organisations across the full buildings and construction value chain. With over 400 members, including 71 national governments, the alliance connects actors, aligns strategies and accelerates action on one of the world's most important sectors for climate mitigation and resilience.

The alliance works to support national and international action through knowledge sharing, coalition building, policy dialogue and flagship initiatives. It helps frame the sector's contribution to global climate goals by promoting decarbonisation, energy efficiency, resilience and better measurement of progress across buildings and construction.

The World Championship for Energy Savings (WCES) is developed under this international ecosystem, in alignment with GlobalABC's mission to accelerate measurable progress in the built environment. By highlighting real building performance and national energy leagues, the WCES contributes to the broader objective of scaling practical solutions and supporting more ambitious sector transformation worldwide.
